Martin Luther King Jr

* This week we are looking at the significance of Martin Luther King Jr.
* Watch the video on the blog. Bishop Bridgeman children have produced a fantastic video this for this week, looking at the life and impact of Martin Luther King Jr.
* There are lots of examples in the Bible where God shows us that we should share and care for each other, irrespective of background?
* Why is Martin Luther King Jr such an important historical figure?
* Feed back to your class you’re learning during Black History Month.
* Why is it important and the right thing to do to treat everyone fairly and with respect?
* What do you think Jesus would say on this subject?
* Use your window, door and mirror key rings to reflect on not giving up. How do you feel now? What have you discovered? What will you take away from this week’s Ethos to Go?

I think that a skin colour doesn't mean anything and that we all should be treated the same way and equally as we are all equal in God's eyes.

U3 discussed that we should treat everyone with equality and fairness. Some examples we thought of that are in the bible were the Good Samaritan and when one of Jesus’ disciples told the children they cannot come to him.

Everyone should be treated equally because it helps to eliminate hate. Martin Luther King Jr has taught us to be courageous advocates and to always stand up for what we believe is right.

We think that you should always treat people with respect if you want to receive respect. We are thankful to historical figures for the things they have done in the past. We feel proud that Rosa Parks stood up for herself. You should always be kind.

He had a big impact on America because he wanted equality. He was so brave and important that no matter what, he kept going. We feel sad that he was killed because he was a nice person who was trying to help his people.

We listened to the story about Martin Luther King Jr and we were really upset that Rosa Parks was arrested just because she had a different colour skin. We think God would be pleased with him because he fought for what is right.

Jesus would be furious at the way black people were treated and sometimes still are treated. Jesus and God would be happy with Martin Luther King Junior as he fought for equality

Class 8 St James

We think Jesus would've been disappointed at the unfair way people have been discriminated against.

Class 7- St James

Our differences shouldn't matter, if we are different colours or have different appearances, we should be treated equally. We are thankful to Martin Luther King Jr and other historical figures for helping make changes.
